Family Sponsorship

Family Sponsorship class allows certain family members to become permanent residents and join their loved one in Canada. Family members can be sponsored through inland (In-Canada Class) sponsorship and overseas (Family Class) sponsorship. For the inland process, the sponsored individual must be in Canada. The overseas sponsorship process applies to a sponsored individual who is not in Canada. The sponsor (a permanent resident or citizen) must meet certain requirements to be eligible to sponsor a family member.

• Spouse, common law, or conjugal partner
• Dependent child
• Dependent child of a dependent child
• Parents
• Grandparents
