Work Permit Based On An Labour Market Assessment(LMIA) 

To be eligible for a work permit based on an LMIA, an individual needs a LMIA from their employer. To receive a positive LMIA, an employer’s application must be approved by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). Individuals must also demonstrate that they qualify for the job for which the LMIA was sought. Successful applicants receive an employer specific work permit.
